Hi! I’m Christine. I’m a designer, writer, and daydreamer, and Darling is my creative studio. I’ve worked as a visual storyteller for 20+ years, but I’ve been telling stories all my life. I work, live, and play in Los Angeles.

I founded Darling Studio in 2003 because I enjoyed crafting standout branding and websites for small businesses.

I garnered praise for my fresh and friendly approach to design and the delightful details in my work. Today, I continue to pair thoughtful strategy with visual storytelling as a senior designer at Aeolidia. I still enjoy what I do.

Life

I love color, simplicity, and a good cup of coffee. I’ve chronicled my life online for forever, first on Webby-nominated maganda.org and now here.

My work has been featured nationally, in publications like An Illustrated Life, Little Book of Letterpress, and Desire to Inspire. Of course, I'm convinced that my best work to date is my darling family—my husband, Rama, and our children, Henry and Maira. Their creativity, wit, and energy inspire me.

I publish a newsletter called Good Things & Everything Else. It’s part sketchbook, part journal, part letter to a friend. (We’re friends, right?)

I send the newsletter full of good stuff, stories, doodles, and a hearty dose of color every Friday. Read it, and get on the list.

Eye Spy

My talented friend @lisasolomon’s show #amime opened at @waltermacielgallery last night and I’m so glad I got a chance to see it, and her, in person. Her work is always so thoughtful and well crafted.
He’s cute.
And so we have it, our firstborn is a sophomore in high school—a 15-year-old—and he proves day after day that he isn’t just my baby… he is a remarkable young man. Brilliant and bighearted and patient and funny and kind. Happy
I always forget I love the beach until I’m there.
It’s something, isn’t it, to see in person what you’d only known in books?
